The Commercial Register of Lucerne is a public register that serves to identify companies that carry out commercial activities in the Canton of Lucerne.
The information contained in the Register varies according to the legal form of the company, but generally includes the name or business name, the registered office, the purpose of the company, the management and control bodies, the share capital, the persons authorised to sign on behalf of the company, and certain other remarks.
All companies must be registered in the Commercial Register; however, for certain legal forms, registration is only compulsory under certain conditions (e.g. self-employed persons are only obliged to register if they achieve a turnover of more than CHF 100,000):
